Plusreader features

Plusreader uses 5 different exercises:
Word Flash
In this exercise a word flashes up during a fraction of a second. Afterwards you can indicate if you have recognized the word. This exercise learns you to recognize words and line parts rapidly.
Word groups
The words of a text are sequentially shown. This exercise learns read you to read in a continuing cadens. This exercise is extremely suitable the horizontal peripheral field of vision(number of words per line) and the vertical peripheral field of vision(number of lines).
Scrolling lines
The lines of a text go by scrolling. You can establish the width of the lines yourself. This exercise helps you to force your eyes to focus on the progress of the text and prevent them to wander inefficiently through the text.
Line parts
Parts of a line are shown, where the line is shown in light color and the text progress in dark color. This exercise learns you subdivide the line in parts and no longer in separate words to increase your reading speed.

Texts
Plusreader is provided with a number of short texts to practice. These texts are not sufficient to do a complete speed reading course. It is better to perform exercises with your own texts. You can use any text in Plusreader, as long as it is plain ascii text or MS Word documents. Almost any document can be exported as ASCII text, so that won't be a problem. You can also do your exercises using Internet pages.
